Job Description

DESCRIPTION

We're seeking a UX Researcher to join our growing team to help shape the future of podcasting.

In this role, you'll conduct research that drives product decisions and design solutions for our diverse community of podcast creators - from enterprise publishers to independent content creators.

You'll collaborate across Product, Design, and Customer Experience teams to uncover insights that improve how Networks and Publishers manage and monetize their content.

This is an opportunity to impact how stories are shared with the world while solving complex challenges in the podcast industry.

Key job responsibilities
- Plan and execute mixed-methods research studies including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and behavioral analytics analysis

- Partner with Product and Design teams to identify research opportunities and translate business questions into research objectives

- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and clear recommendations

- Build and maintain a centralized research repository to ensure insights are accessible and utilized across teams

- Facilitate research sessions and workshops to align stakeholders on user needs and pain points

- Mentor other team members on research best practices and methodologies

- Create and socialize research deliverables including presentations, reports, and journey maps

- Advocate for user-centered design decisions based on research findings

- Collaborate with Customer Experience teams to incorporate feedback and support data-driven improvements

- Stay current with podcast industry trends and competitor offerings to inform research strategies

A day in the life
In this role, you will have a significant opportunity to shape and drive product strategy through user-centered research within our podcast platform ecosystem. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive research practice that informs best-in-class user experiences across our platform. Through rigorous research methodologies and data analysis, you'll uncover insights that drive product decisions and design innovations.

You'll collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate business objectives into research initiatives, then execute studies that illuminate user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Your findings will directly influence interface design, interaction models, and feature development. You'll need strong analytical capabilities as you solve both systematic user problems and individual experience challenges simultaneously.

As the central research authority, you'll build scalable processes for capturing, analyzing, and sharing user insights across teams. You'll regularly present findings to stakeholders and work closely with Customer Experience teams to ensure research insights drive meaningful platform improvements. After features launch, you'll use both qualitative and quantitative data to measure impact and guide iteration cycles.

This role offers the unique opportunity to not only conduct research but to establish how research fundamentally shapes our product development process and ultimately improves how podcast creators at all levels succeed on our platform.

About the team
At ART19, our design team is dedicated to revolutionizing podcasting by creating a platform that is seamless, intuitive, and empowering for all users, from independent creators to large enterprises. We are committed to simplicity, innovation, and personalization, ensuring that our tool not only meets but anticipates the needs of our users. By focusing on ease of use and constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we aim to provide innovative solutions that empower our users and make them feel supported and confident.

We are a team of builders. We all roll our sleeves up and get our hands dirty. We leave egos at the door and push each other to do our best work. If you're the type of designer that is excited about your teammates successes, learn from them, and push harder, we're the spot for you.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Cognitive science, Sociology, Human factors or similar.
- 3+ years conducting UX research, across a variety of development life cycle stages
- Skilled in generative and evaluative research methods, both qualitative and quantitative
