A Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in Jamestown, CA, for the 2025-2026 school year. This role will focus on serving students in the Nexus Program, working with a classroom that includes mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities. Candidates will support a diverse group of students in grades 5 through 8 who have primary and emotional disabilities.
The position runs from August 18, 2025, through June 5, 2026, with a 37.5-hour workweek. The classroom will have a small student population, ranging from 2 to 8 students, with a maximum of 10. The teacher will collaborate closely with three paraprofessionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum materials, managing classroom behavior, and providing academic and emotional support to students. The teacher will monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and communicate regularly with parents and other educational professionals to ensure student success.
