Senior Manager - Online Sales

Position Summary

The Senior Manager for Online Sales supports the mission of Overflow Thrift Store (OTS) by administering the Overflow Ebay store and other online sales avenues. The Senior Manager leads the Online sales team to select items for placement on on-line sales avenues, train store staff to identify items for special price / online sales, complete pricing review for all items (following pricing guides, when applicable), establish efficient processes for transfer and management of merchandise between Overflow stores, list items on Overflow online sales stores in a creative and appealing manner, manage product promotions, organize online merchandise for efficient storage and access, oversee regular product rotation so the Overflow ebay store is fresh, assist customers to complete purchases and maintain positive communications with customers, and arrange for shipping of items. The Senior Manager collaborates with other online sales and marketing staff to achieve sales goals, promote Ebay store merchandise, and maintain efficient online store operations.

   1. Follow attendance procedures; arrive to the building with enough time to allow for storing personal items, filling personal drinks, greeting team mates, etc., and be ready to start work when clocking in on time (at the time scheduled to begin work)
   2. Adhere to Overflow Handbook, policies and procedures
   3. Demonstrate excellent productivity in tasks and throughout shift
   4. Work with diligence and focus when clocked in - for example:
      1. seek out tasks to complete - discuss with team mates or Directors about priority tasks; look for cleaning, tidying and stocking tasks to complete, especially when working at the registers
      2. refrain from personal cell phone use, eating, personal shopping, and other personal entertainment activities (socializing, reading, games, etc.)
      3. complete shift breaks and meal breaks within allotted time (15 minutes / 30 minutes)

Position Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as member of Overflow leadership team with Managing Director, Senior Operations Director and Store Directors
   1. Contribute to the strategic and operational decision-making for the Overflow stores overall.
   2. Regularly evaluate and update as needed Overflows pricing standards and guidelines for special price / online merchandise.
   3. Regularly evaluate and update as needed Overflows overall processes and logistics for the online / Ebay store. Seek ways to improve internal processes and the overall success of the online / Ebay store.
   4. Collaborate with Overflow leadership team to identify and develop new online and special price revenue opportunities.
   5. Oversee training for all Overflow staff for special price product selection, pricing, and online store processes.
2. Manage OTS online sales and inventory
   1. Manage incoming and listed inventory.
   2. Oversee pricing of merchandise sent to the Online sales team, following pricing standards and guidelines.
   3. Assure special price merchandise is processed quickly for either placement on the Overflow Ebay store or on the retail store floor.
   4. List items on online stores, taking pictures and creating online posts that will attract customers.
   5. Manage donor communication and shipping.
   6. Manage sales and inventory turnover.
   7. Maintain good relationships with customers.
   8. Maintain tidy and efficient online store offices.
3. Achieve Sales Goals for Dept
   1. Meet monthly department sales goals.
   2. Provide monthly sales reports.
   3. Track sales and shipping expenses.
4. Serve as an ambassador to OTS volunteers - creating an environment of appreciation for our volunteers while supporting volunteers to achieve the OTS mission

1. 1. Collaborate with volunteers on assigned work priorities
   2. Communicate with volunteers with kindness, respect and appreciation
   3. Participate in planned volunteer trainings, groups, and appreciation as scheduled
   4. Utilize clothing training and pricing guides for volunteer onboarding

Position Requirements

1. High School diploma
2. Two to three years experience in retail or on-line environment; experience with thrift or consignment retail preferred
3. Supervisory experience preferred
4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds in a team lift occasionally
5. Ability to work in a flexible, physically-active, fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude; work environment requires frequent standing, bending, squatting, pulling, lifting, carrying, and pushing.
