DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Therapeutic Activities Supervisor, you will have a crucial role in ensuring that individuals with complex behavioral challenges receive the necessary support and direction in participating in various programs and activities. Through your guidance, these individuals will have the opportunity to work toward their personal life goals. In addition to overseeing staff and facilitating program improvements, you will also be responsible for maintaining records and completing required reports. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to helping individuals with complex behavioral challenges reach their full potential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Therapeutic Activities Worker (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of professional experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination .
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
