Position Highlights:

What You'll Do:

• Manage phone calls, addressing non-professional inquiries and directing calls to the appropriate staff.
• Input and maintain patient data and billing information, including patient details and insurance.
• Deliver medications to patients, ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions and collecting necessary payments and signatures.
• Assist the pharmacist with prescription counseling when needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to restock medications based on established minimum levels.
• Check incoming product orders against invoices and display items appropriately on shelves.
• Keep track of expiration dates on inventory and manage undelivered prescriptions in accordance with state regulations.
• Process prescription refills while adhering to state laws.
• Handle third-party billing forms and communicate with providers about prior authorizations.
• Uphold compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and organizational standards.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in roles such as pharmacy assistant, office work, patient care, or customer service.
• Must obtain Pharmacy Assistant state registration within 60 days of employment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at level 9.
• Strong communication skills with a customer-centered focus.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to perform administrative tasks including phones, filing, and document management.
• Team-oriented with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Basic proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, preferred.
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy software systems is a plus.
