We charge by the evening, rather than for pre-defined appointment slots, so you feel comfortable and supported all evening.
This includes as many consults as you like with an expert emergency kid's doctor and any necessary scripts, referrals and pathology requests.
Well grab a few basic details, then text you a link to a secure consult with one of our doctors, where you can chat, share photos and jump onto a call via voice or video.
From there, its like visiting a doctor in person. Theyll ask you questions, discuss your concerns, and come up with a plan that works for you. After your consult you can still chat with us, and well check back with you to make sure everything is going OK.
We specialise in treating newborns all the way up to 15-year-olds.
Our expert paediatric clinicians can attain a lot of information through observation of your child and their behaviour via a video consultation.
They can also help guide you to assist with other aspects of a physical exam, which in many circumstances means we can still manage your child at home.
If our clinician does feel your child needs an in-person physical exam, they can provide you with quick and expert advice about the seriousness of the issue and recommend where and how urgently you should seek help.

With your assistance we can provide care or advice for almost anything short of an emergency. If youre worried that your child needs to be in a hospital, youre probably right, and you should call 000 or get to an ED immediately.
Our doctors are happy to assess your child from the comfort of your own home. We can also provide you with an electronic pathology request form for a COVID-19 test and/or advise on where to get tested if needed.
All the clinicians working for Cub Care have extensive experience caring for children and adolescents.
Your child will be treated by either: a paediatric emergency physician (the doctors you would see in the emergency department of a kid's hospital), a general paediatrician with significant emergency experience or a senior paediatric registrar with significant experience caring for children.
We are initially opening in the late afternoon and evening periods, which is when childrens health services are most in demand. You can find our exact hours here . However, we will be led by what you need, and may extend our hours as needed.
No, you are welcome to see us without a referral , but the cost will be higher.
One of the best parts of Cub Care is that you will be consulting with an expert emergency kid's doctor, just like in the emergency department of a kid's hospital. Unfortunately, this means we cannot offer a Medicare rebate unless you get a referral from your GP or specialist.
The price is usually around $30.65 to $94.85 with a referral, though this may vary a little based on your Medicare eligibility and the clinician you see.
Please note that you cant get a referral after the Cub Care consult has already taken place. If you see your GP during the day and think you might need to use our service after hours if things dont improve or you are worried, then ask for a referral just in case.
