Job Overview

The Business Development Director is a key growth and transformation role within TCS’ Market Unit, responsible for driving and executing strategies to acquire target clients in the manufacturing industry. This proactive demand generation and selling role aims at acquiring new clients by leveraging TCS’s portfolio of services, collaborating with market development teams, solutions teams, and industry SMEs to create demand and capture opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Create new business opportunities for the Manufacturing vertical, including new logo acquisitions and expanding existing relationships.
• Generate demand for TCS solutions in Manufacturing industry groups.
• Create large deals by identifying market opportunities and positioning themes such as operating model transformation, tech debt modernization, and process automation.
• Establish relationships with CXOs and generate market momentum for TCS in targeted pursuits.
• Engage with TCS ecosystem to shape large deals proactively.
• Achieve TCV growth targets, originate deals, and acquire new logos through demand generation, consultative selling, and thought leadership throughout the buying journey.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of selling experience, primarily in Manufacturing vertical.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing sub-verticals like Industrial, Automotive, Chemicals & Process; in-depth knowledge of one sub-vertical is a plus.
• Strong local contacts within industry associations and alumni networks.
• Experience with RFI and RFP processes.
• Proven ability to lead discussions with CXOs.
• Experience in a leading IT services/consulting firm, collaborating across global teams.
• Industry experience in manufacturing companies is desirable.

Salary Range: $180,000 - $250,000 per year.
